Publication design documenting Latitude 53’s recent exhibition by Elise Rasmussen, ‘The Year Without a Summer’.

I was tasked with designing the layout and cover of the exhibition catalogue for ‘The Year Without a Summer’. The exhibit takes inspiration from a natural phenomenon that took place in the summer of 1816 where many parts of the world experienced extreme weather conditions. One half of the exhibition features Cyanotypes on 7 silk panels, while the other features 16mm film transferred to 4K Video.

The catalogue included a number of photographs from the exhibit along with commissioned exhibition text, so I designed a convenient grid system to work with lengthy blocks of text and a lot of photos.
